An inaccessible apology

I am aware that this blog is horrendous to look at and not very accessible. I don’t that that’s reasonable and I apologise. It’s not going to be fixed overnight but as and when I have the spoons I will do something about it. Love, me.
Unresolved Issues

This year, I didn’t make any New Year resolutions. I’ve done it some years, and I find it’s mostly a case of setting yourself up for a fall. With an arbitrary start point (Jan 1) and an arbitrary deadline (Dec 31) there is pressure from beginning to end. But over the midwinter period I had a bit of a think about my priorities and I have some ambitions for the coming months:

Since joining Twitter, more and more I’ve found myself wanting to write essays that don’t fit into 140 characters. I’ve never been particularly verbose; I’ve always just scraped the word requirements in academic contexts, if I managed to complete the assignment at all. But my head is full of stuff and it needs somewhere to overflow occasionally. So it seems it’s time to start a blog, and actually update it.
I’ve decided not to self-host. I have mixed feelings about this, because I have mixed experiences of using hosted services. But we’ll see how things go. At least it’ll be one less system to administer.
